Bangkok: Hotel Jasmine Grande Residence

At Jasmine Grande Residence, I discovered that Bangkok can almost feel quiet—even when you’re just a few steps away from Rama IV, possibly the only street on the planet that never sleeps yet insists on staying charming. The spacious rooms are like little hideaway islands in the urban jungle, Wi-Fi included so you can document your adventures before the pad thai has even cooled. The pool waits like a patient friend after a day full of street food, Skytrain shuffles, and spontaneous detours. And the 24-hour reception? Perfect for anyone undecided about whether 2 a.m. is meant for sleeping or for buying mangoes. Ekamai is just 1.5 km away—ideal for launching yourself toward your next adventure on the Eastern Seaboard.

My Verdict

between Marble Dreams and Skyline Longing

Despite its slightly off-center location, I was astonishingly quick at all the major hotspots of the city. The hotel itself sometimes feels as if someone clicked “Maximum Order” on the marble catalog page — but hey, at least it’s impeccably maintained.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks excellent English. The sports and leisure facilities are in great condition and genuinely fun to use.

What was missing? Easy: a rooftop bar!

With 37 floors and a view that could glorify any Instagram feed, it would have been an absolute highlight. Maybe someone from management is reading this right now.

But despite this tiny gap, one thing is certain:

When I’m back in Bangkok — and I definitely will be — I’ll stay here again.

Hotel description

Note: ‘This is my experience and it may not be the same as others'.’

Where exactly is everything?

The Yasmin Grande Residence is located a little way from the city centre, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel and a BTS station a few metres away, providing easy access to the city centre. Depending on the time of day and the driver's driving style, it takes between 45 and 25 minutes to get there from the airport. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the BTS station several times a day.

What is available at the hotel?

This is quite easy to explain: the hotel does not have a restaurant, so there is no possibility to eat at the hotel in the evening or at lunchtime. However, this is not necessary, as there are plenty of places to eat in the immediate vicinity. There is something for every taste.

Sports and pool?

There are several sports facilities at the hotel, including a tennis court and a well-equipped gym. I particularly liked the pool and pool area. It was the first time in Thailand that the water in the pool was cool, which was very pleasant. A sauna (by appointment) and a jacuzzi also provide variety.

How do you sleep?

As a room recommendation, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Junior Suite. It's worth staying in the upper part of the hotel, as the view over the city from here is phenomenal. My suite was on the 35th floor and I didn't regret it. The room is also wonderfully quiet, as the air conditioning can be turned down to the optimum level and has a night mode. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were impeccably clean.

Services offered, Good to know

  • Distance to the centre, approx. 30 minutes
  • Location rating on the edge of the city centre
  • Nearest airport Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK)
  • Distance to the airport 18 km
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and reasonably fast
  • Daily cleaning
  • Parking available at the hotel

My conclusion: What do I have to report?

Despite its location on the outskirts of Bangkok's city centre, you can get to all of the city's main attractions very quickly. In my opinion, the hotel itself has a bit too much marble, but it is spotlessly clean throughout. The staff speak excellent English and are very helpful. The leisure facilities were all in good condition and were regularly maintained. The only thing I felt was missing was a rooftop bar, for example. After all, the hotel has 37 floors with a fantastic view, which would have made the stay unforgettable. When I'm back in Bangkok, I'll definitely stay here again.
